History

історія фабрики.jpg

The history of the Jam factory building is not well known. There are assumptions that the first building reaches to XVII-XVIII- th centuries. The story from XX-th century gives us more facts. The factory was owned by "Kornik and Son" for the manufacture of alcoholic products. Since the beginning of Soviet rule in Ukraine, factory was changed to a cannery, and then placed in the factory premises of the winery trust "Ukrholovvyno" which were bringing tanks for bottling wine from Algeria or Moldova. In 1970 the premises were changed to vegetable processing plant. Since the early 1990s the factory stops working.

Since 2009 in the premises of the factory art events are hold, including Contemporary Art Week festival, theater performances and other events.

Today, the factory expects rethinking of its space and content not only as a temporary site for events, but permanent dynamic cultural space.
